every morning when i wake up i have shap pain in my left hip, and it is frustrating that my doctors have not agreed about what is causing it. some say i have an inflamed bursa. some say it is muscle contracture in the hip. still others say it is my si joint out of place. i also wake up feeling like every sqare inch of my skin is severely sunburned. it feels like it is burnt and peeling and that someon is rubbing it with a brillo pad. i realize my skin is not burnt, as i can look at it and it seems fine, but my brain is still registering it like it is real and it sucks big time. i lay in bed for a few minutes feeling miserable, then get up and addison wheels me ouside. lately the temperature has been chilly in the morning, about 60 degrees, but it feels like about 20 to me, and so i end up feeling worse sitting outside, like i am freezing to death. i take lyrica which reduces the nerve pain for 30 to 60 minutes, then i eat breakfast (
usually bisquits and gravy or yogurt and with it i take 15 mg of oxycodon( anything less has no effect). whenehen the oxy kicks in (usually 2 hours later) i feel a grat sense of relief. i can tell the pain is still there but the oxy makes it easier to embrace it and ignore it .i feel like the oxy clouds my brain and makes it harder to think and focus but it is still a lot better than the pain. to protect my liver i've been taking artichoke extract with the oxy (usually 900mg of enzymatic therapy brand artichoke extract and it has the effect of making it take longer for the oxyr to kick in, and when it does the pain reliefeffect of it is diminished. so the artichoke it obviously helping my liver dotox it out of my system. i am doing my best to get short term pain relief without damaging my liver or becoming addicted to codeine. i know it must be possible to live a good life after a stroke, it is just very challaging trying to find out what it might be, and reducing the level of pain is my highest priority.
if you have any suggestions as to what to do for my nerve or physical hip pain please leave a comment. thanks.
